Introduction

EMC or EMI problems are often encountered during the final stage of product development stage, which is during the certification stage. The EMC engineers always have to troubleshoot and solve the EMC problem empirically which take a lot of time and effort.

The basics of ensuring the product to pass EMC certification test is to precisely control and mitigate the interference between electronic devices or components.

RF Station is experienced in both EMC measurement and simulation, which gives us insight to the right cause and implement correct mitigation technique.

Besides, we can also provide early stage evaluation service to reduce the prototype revisions.

Our services include:

Conducted Emission / Immunity

Conducted emission and immunity are most commonly encountered on power line, which contains the switching frequency of AC-DC or DC-DC converter.

RF Station can performs easy parametric changes to determine the effectiveness of different mitigation techniques. We are also able to visualize the “hotspot” on the PCB to implement changes onto the layout. Besides, we can also perform troubleshooting on the PCB using traditional EM probes.

Radiated Emission / Immunity

Radiated emission and immunity troubleshooting is one of the most complicated task, because the Equipment Under Test (EUT) must be in operation mode, where all components are running simultaneously. This makes troubleshooting difficult because isolating the source is almost impossible.

By combining both measurement and simulation approaches together, we are able to identity and mitigate the source faster.

Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)

With the help of simulation tool, we are able to identify the ESD propagation path and also estimate the level of induced voltage and current. This is almost impossible for actual measurement, where it only provides pass/fail condition.

Frequently Asked Questions

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing measures the ability of devices, equipment, or systems to function normally in their electromagnetic environment, without introducing intolerable disturbance or be disturbed by neighbouring devices or systems.

Depending on the scope, we are able to use simulation and measurement troubleshooting method to isolate the root cause. This method is more effective and cost-efficient. We are able to help in all radiated and conducted emission and immunity, including ESD.

We use both simulation and measurement to identify the source and perform design changes or design improvement. We will then verify the changes and provide a design change report.

Depending on the scope, the charges depend on the man-day and measurement services included. We are very transparent on the charges. Please contact us to find out more.
